It was a beautiful morning when we met up with the guys at MKD Wealth Coach at the Oakhurst Golf & Country Club in Clarkston, MI for a special event. The golf outing was a skills challenge that included putting, chipping, and driving and provided a great opportunity for networking.

We recently photographed children at the Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac, MI in order to help them create their 2011 Calendar with proceeds benefiting those in need. Grace Centers of Hope is a non-profit Christian organization committed to positively changing the lives of the homeless, addicted and unwanted through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, personal accountability, life skills education and work-related programs. The organization also has several thrift store locations where you can donate or shop.

This weekend was Dereck and Julia’s wedding at the amazing Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn MI. It is one of the most unique wedding venues in Michigan and home to greenfield village and lovett hall as well, which provide beautiful outdoor wedding scenery for photographs. The energy at this wedding was vibrant and joyous; everyone really got down on the dance floor! We enjoyed working with the always impeccable Emerald City Designs, who provided the beautiful floral arrangements and decor.

Marlee from Walled Lake Central High School in Commerce Township MI had her senior pictures taken with us yesterday in downtown Auburn Hills. The area offered both an urban backdrop and very cool park area with a stream and decorative pond. Marlee was great to shoot because she has such a natural smile! At school, she is very involved in musical theater and choir and has been singing for most of her life. The weather was a little windy for this outdoor shoot, but confident Marlee worked it out!

Today we did high school senior pictures on the grounds of the beautiful Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, MI with the kind and good-natured Sarah. She has been playing volleyball and softball since 6th grade and enjoys English and history. Sarah has also been a Cranbrook student since Kindergarten so it was only appropriate to capture her memories there on camera. Shooting at Cranbrook is always great because of the variety of structures, fountains and foliage, a truly unique senior picture location. The weather was sunny without being hot, all in all a beautiful late August day!

We just took senior photos for Lindsay from Troy High School in Troy MI where she is on the varsity dance team. She was quite the fashionista with her stylish accessories, but no diva attitude here! Lindsay was incredibly warm and kind, not to mention comfortable in front of the camera. She really knew how to dress to bring out her green eyes as well, they absolutely sparkled on camera!

Last night I had the opportunity to check out a beautiful wedding venue called Waldenwoods right on Lake Walden in Hartland, MI.
It’s a serene location for an outdoor wedding with a country feel. The staff is relaxed and friendly and the food is terrific.
If you are looking for an “up north” wedding without the drive, this is the perfect place!

The sunsets on the lake are breathtaking!

I was so inspired by the beauty of the venue that I came home and started painting and created two paintings showing this amazing venue.

The first painting on the back lawn I posted on my painting website where you can actually zoom in to see close up detail.

Taking senior pictures for Molly from Allen Park, MI was a total walk in the park today. This girl has got confidence! She is very involved at school with dance, student council and her favorite, varsity tennis among others. We don’t know how she does it all, but she pulls it off with style and grace!

We photographed a very sweet couple Sam and Angela this past weekend at the beautiful Meadowbrook mansion. For anyone that hasn’t seen it, Meadow Brook Hall is an amazing place for an outdoor summer wedding in Rochester, MI. For those looking for a wedding in a garden setting, there is no better place. Meadow Brook also boasts a huge tent for an outdoor reception that is still sheltered in the event of inclement weather.
Everything went off without a hitch and we were blessed with a day with only a few sprinkles even though it threatened rain all day. It was very touching when Angela and her dad danced together during the reception to a song that he had recorded himself singing.
We also had the pleasure of working with Lee and Lisa Thomas on video. I can’t wait to see their trailer!
There were a few sprinkles in the sky on this hot day but it actually created a rainbow right over the tent!
Cheridy just called me outside to take a look at a weird looking spider that was about to much on a bee that was still alive!
Nature is disgusting but intriguing at the same time!!
